Croatia's policy regarding Bosnian Croats is utterly wrong and it is mostly harmful to Croats themselves, Ivica Djikic, screenwriter, writer and journalist told N1's Amir Zukic.
“The fact that Bosnian Croats are moving out of the country en mass is enabled by the fact that they have Croatian passports. They are completely equal to other EU citizens and it's only normal that they would look for better fortune elsewhere, where they would find a better job,” Djikic said, adding:
“Croats simply have a way out with that passport – that fact alone is the root cause of the biblical migration of Croats and their disappearance from Bosnia.”
Zukic's interlocutor was known earlier for his thesis that Bosniaks are the most responsible for the situation in the country, and he thinks the same way today.
“I've been saying that for years and it's based on the fact that Bosniaks are the most numerous people in the country, that they have the biggest voter base. That fact alone makes them the most responsible for the future of Bosnia. I think that Bosniaks will have to start bearing the weight of that fact. No one can talk about the future of Bosnia without them,” Djikic noted, adding that Bosniaks cannot continue the politics of blaming Belgrade and Zagreb for their negative impact on the country and that they have to start solving those issues.
Indeed, he did confirm the negative impact Belgrade and Zagreb have on Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the problems must be resolved within Bosnia's borders.
