Kosovo's Central Election Commission (CIK) said that 3,700 votes that came in envelopes from Serbia would not be taken into account in final results of the early parliamentary election held on October 6, the Beta news agency reported on Monday.
According to Kosovo online website, the envelops from Serbia are still in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport due to an investigation conducted by Kosovo's police and Prosecution after some CIK members suffered from ‘an allergy’ after being in contacts with the ballot papers.
The recounting of the votes from 530 polling stations in Kosovo is still underway.
Two Kosovo's opposition parties came neck-to-neck in the early vote, while in the north, the Serb List, a Serb party supported by Belgarde, secured all ten parliamentary seats reserved for the Serb minority.
