A hunter in the northern municipality of Prnjavor found Mirjana Vidakovic, a woman who was reported missing about a month ago, in the forest around the area of Strpci on Sunday.

Ljubisa Bogicevic went hunting boars when he found Vidakovic, according to the secretary in the Borik Prnjavor Hunting club, Ranko Tepsic.

“When he saw the lady, he contacted the Strpci section of the club who called to police. The officers then arrived at the scene to see what is happening and an effort to pull the woman out from the hardly accessible terrain followed,” Tepsic said, adding that about ten people were involved in the effort.

An ambulance then took Vidakovic away.

Bogicevic spoke to Vidakovic, who told him she did not leave the spot for a month. She was too weak to walk, but could state her name and the date of her birth.

“She said she ate wild briars and drank water from ponds,” Tepsic said.

He explained that the terrain the woman was found in is difficult to traverse, especially for someone as weak as she was.

Vidakovic, born in 1976, was reported missing on November 23, 2019, after when she left her house in Strpci, Prnjavor three days earlier.
