The European Parliament (EP) passed a resolution on Thursday on the opening of the accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania with 412 votes for, 136 against and 30 abstentions, N1 reported.

The MEPs joined high ranked European Union officials, some US representatives and Western Balkans leaders in disappointment with the “bloc’s failure” to agree on a date for the opening of negotiations and called on the member states to think about the consequences of such decision.

The EP members also called on the EU to give the green light for the opening of talks with the two countries at the next meeting.
