Bosnia will have another chance to propose its delegation in the Council of Europe (CoE) Parliament in January, The Head of the CoE Office in Sarajevo, Dragoslav Stefanek, said on Thursday.

Stefanek warned that if that chance is missed, the country will lose out on its chance to participate in the work of the CoE Parliament throughout all of 2020.

“I hope it will not come to that,” he told journalists.

He emphasised that, despite the fact that the Council of Ministers was not formed and the Parliament is not working in its full capacity, the Council of Europe maintains great cooperation with Bosnian institutions as well as with those of the two semi-autonomous entities, Republika Srpska (RS) and the Federation (FBiH).

Bosnia did not name its delegation for the CoE Parliament this year and is not participating in its work.

The delegation is composed of 10 persons – five permanent members and five deputies and naming it is under the competencies of Bosnia’s Parliament.
