Authorities have identified the migrant who was killed in early October in the southwestern border municipality of Bileca as 20-year-old Seid Addou, from Morocco, the local effendi Sadet Bilalic found out on Sunday evening.

Bilalic spoke to the brother of the deceased young man, Mostapha. Addou’s ID card states he was born on August 15, 1999 in Berkane to father Mohammad and mother Rahima.

Locals in Bileca organised an Islamic funeral, a Janaza, for Addou in October.

“After we prayed the Janaza, we have committed ourselves to try to reach his friends and people who know him,” Bilalic said.“

“We were persistent. We have sent Seid’s photos to several addresses through our centres which deal with migrants,” he said, adding that a border police officer forwarded photos to Addou’s family.

Seid Addou was brutally murdered in early October in the Bileca area when he and a group of migrants entered the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A local has reportedly confessed to the murder.
