Bosnia and Herzegovina is a multicultural and multi-religious society and the struggle to preserve its most precious values and sense of community has never been more emphasised than today, Bosnia’s Council of Ministers Chairman, Denis Zvizdic, told US Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom, Samuel Brownback, on Wednesday.
Zvizdic briefed Brownback on the current situation in the country.
Brownback said the US supports religious freedoms and that faith is a driving force for the well being of people and bringing them together. Bosnia and Herzegovina is an example of coexistence, tolerance and ways in which different religions can live together and cooperate, he said.
Zvizdic and Brownback agreed there is work to be done for long-term reconciliation in Bosnia and that religious freedoms must be ensured for everyone.
The meeting was also attended by US Ambassador Eric Nelson.
