Bosnia's Security Minister Dragan Mektic urged all Republika Srpska (RS) Army veterans on Thursday to take to the streets with him and to destroy their veteran ID cards in protest against the treatment of veterans in this Serb-dominated entity.
“I urge all honest, honourable and honest veterans to organize a one day protest in Banja Luka and public destruction of veteran ID cards in protest of the humiliating attitude of the authorities towards the veteran population. Hurry, because it may be too late tomorrow. Let me know,” Mektic wrote on his twitter.

Several days earlier, he tore up his military ID cars at a press conference in Banja Luka, in a sign of support with his fellow veterans.
”I came to stand in solidarity with the commander from Nevesinje. I intended to invite the combatants to publicly burn the veterans’ ID cards in protest of the Republika Srpska's attitude towards this population,” he said.
