As Bosnia commemorate its statehood, the US celebrates the strong partnership of the two countries, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a note to the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the country's Statehood Day, welcoming the steps taken on the country's Euro-Atlantic integration path.

“Our relationship helps form the foundation for peace in the Western Balkans and we hope to strengthen and deepen this relationship even further. The United States also strongly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards European and Euro-Atlantic integration and we commend the steps you have taken to advance down that path,” said the US State Secretary adding that these efforts will help ensure the regional peace and prosperity.

Pompeo also noted that the bilateral engagement benefits not only the two countries but also the Transatlantic community as a whole.

“We look forward to many more years of friendship and cooperation, and we congratulate you on your National Day,” he said.
