Migrants from the northern Bosnian camp Vucjak said they would not leave the camp for the one near Sarajevo with better living conditions, noting the authorities could only take them there by force, N1's Slavisa Starcevic reported on Friday.
N1's Starcevic said the migrants are aware of the plan to relocate them to a former barracks in Blazuj, near Sarajevo, but they refuse any notion of moving, saying they only want to cross into the EU.
Bosnia's Security Minister Dragan Mektic said earlier that all the migrants from the temporary migrant camp Vucjak, near the northern Bosnian city of Bihac, will be transferred into the former barracks in Blazuj, near the Bosnian capital, which has been adapted to house migrants.
Mektic said his Ministry agreed with the Federation entity to make the Blazuj barracks into a new migrant shelter.
When it comes to camp Vucjak, many national and international organisations agree it is unsuited for human living, and the Council of Europe Human Rights Commissioner Dunja Mijatovic called the camp shameful and inhumane, urging the authorities to shut it down as soon as possible.
The camp consists only of tents, has no electricity or running water, and no heating.
