Serbia’s famous actress Neda Arneric dies at 66

Neda Arneric, one of the most famous actresses in former Yugoslavia and Serbia, died on Friday at the age of 66, the state RTS TV reported.

An N1 source said the actress died of a heart attack.

Arneric left drama school but later graduated from the Belgrade Philosophy Faculty.

She started acting at the age of 13 and played in over 110 films, and TV series and 40 theatre play.

She was dubbed Yugoslav Shirley Temple.

As a teenager, her first film was ‘San’ (The Dream) about girls and boys who fantasised about a beautiful future, but the WW II destroyed their dreams.

She received ‘Pavle Vujisic’ award for life achievements, and a gold and silver Arena awards at the most famous film festival in former Yugoslavia held in Pula, a centre of Croatian Istria region.
