Bosniak Presidency member: Serbia's secret service placed lies about me in media

Anadolija

The Bosniak member of the tripartite Presidency has accused Serbia’s secret service of placing false information about a wartime meeting between him and Quasem Suleimani in Serbian media, saying that such propaganda will not prevent him from “continuing to tell the truth and consistently fighting for the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

The statement came after Serbian newspapers ‘Novosti’ and ‘Tanjug’ reported that Sefik Dzaferovic, while serving as the director of the Security Centre in the town of Zenica, met with late Iranian general during the 1992-1995 Bosnian war – information which reportedly came from “diplomatic sources in Sarajevo.”

“The content of the published articles alone, which was completely put together from falsehoods, would not even be worthy of a word of response if it did not represent a message that is being sent to me as a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina through Serbian media,” he said.

“It is obvious that I represent a barrier to the ideology of Greater Serbia, which is still alive, as I continue to speak the truth about the aggression, war crimes and genocide, which they don’t like and which they are trying to change with their propaganda,” he added.

Dzaferovic argued that the main goal of these efforts is to “silence Bosniak politicians and weaken the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially the Bosniak people.”
