The death toll of the devastating 6.9 magnitude earthquake which hit eastern Turkey on Friday evening rose to at least 11, while hundreds were left injured, authorities in the country said at the time of writing.
There were six confirmed casualties and 225 people were injured in the city of Elazig, local authorities said.
Another six people died in the city of Malatya, while 45 were reportedly injured.
The epicentre of the earthquake was around the Sivrice district of Elazig and it could also be felt in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Israel, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.
