By rejecting the engagement of Bosnia’s army at the border, Bosnian Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik is taking over full responsibility for any consequences of the expected arrival of a new wave of migrants, his Bosnian Croat colleague, Zeljko Komsic, said on Thursday.
Dodik told reporters on Thursday that an initiative to deploy members of the Armed Forces to the border with Serbia and Montenegro, which Security Minister Fahrudin Radoncic mentioned earlier this week, was already discussed and rejected by the tripartite Presidency last year.
Nothing has changed since then, said Dodik, who opposed the idea.
“By rejecting the engagement of the Armed Forces at the border, Dodik is taking over responsibility for any possible consequences of the migrant crisis and the possible influx of a new wave of migrants,” said Komsic, currently serving as Chairman of the Presidency.
He called Dodik’s policy “irresponsible towards all citizens” and argued that there was no reason for it.
“If the situation escalates, we can put this issue on the agenda again, which would be in the interest of all of us,” Komic said.
