Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic met on Tuesday with Canada's Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne in Ottawa in the first-ever meeting of Bosnia's Presidency members with Canada's high officials.

Noting the importance of this meeting, the two also talked about bilateral relations of the two countries and the challenges faced by the Western Balkan countries and the world.

Canada's Foreign Minister expressed his country's support to Bosnia and its NATO and EU accession process. They touched upon the migrant crisis in the EU and Turkey and how it could reflect on Bosnia and countries of the region which do not have the capacity to respond to such challenges.

Champagne expressed Canada's interest to support Bosnia in implementing reforms, new investments and projects.
Interlocutors also discussed an Agreement on improving and protecting foreign investments as a first step in ensuring more significant investments by the government of Canada in Bosnia

It was concluded that the rule of law and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina were of great importance for this cooperation. They stressed that the implementation of the judicial reform which would enable the country to be stable for new investments and cooperation is crucial, the statement said.
