Croatian authorities confirmed 56 new cases of Covid-19 in their regular morning briefing on Friday, a 14.5 percent increase over the last 24 hours. This brought the country's total to 551.
“Over the past 24 hours, 70 new patients have been detected, which is a tolerable figure in terms of epidemiology, because we are still in the stage of linear, not exponential, growth,” Health Minister Vili Beros said.
To date, 4,482 samples have been tested, including 524 over the past 24 hours. The total of 551 cases includes three deaths and 37 full recoveries. Eight people are currently using respirator machines to breathe.
Average age of patients is 48, about 54 percent are men. Around a quarter of all cases are in people over 60 years of age.
The next briefing with latest figures is expected at 4 pm local time (3 pm GMT).
