Another twenty-five patients tested positive for the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours in Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity, bringing the total in this part of the country to 299, according to RS healthcare minister Alen Seranic.

Addressing the regular daily press conference, the minister said that 316 citizens were tested and 25 turned out positive – 14 from the RS largest city Banja Luka, six from Sipovo, three from Laktasi and one each from Ribnik and Teslic.

One patient fully recovered, he said.

Meanwhile, an elderly COVID-19 patient who was treated at the University Clinical Centre in Banja Luka and who suffered from several other chronic disorders passed away.

Germany delivered a mobile hospital and medical equipment for Republika Srpska on Friday, which will help the authorities to cope with the pandemic.

Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency Milorad Dodik said that the amount of 3.6 million Euro (no VAT) was paid for the hospital, whose capacities include 50 intensive care beds and 400 beds for the patients with milder conditions.

“Once it is set up, the hospital will cover 6,000 square metres and will meet all the conditions and have all medical equipment as a regular hospital,” he said.

RS Government will be the owner of the mobile hospital.

As of Saturday residents of Republika Srpska are not allowed to move outside their place of the residence every weekend from Saturday 10 am until Sunday 6 pm, which is another in series of measures to restrict the movement and prevent further spread of the novel coronavirus.
