Cardinal Puljic calls off all traditional Easter events

Bosnia's Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljic cancelled all traditional events marking Catholic Easter this weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic, Catholic Publishing Agency said on Friday.

Puljic won't read the Easter message for media representatives this year and, instead, video and audio materials will be available online.

Bosnian Catholic Church also called off traditional event of Sarajevo priests, friars and nuns congratulating Easter to Cardinal Puljic as well as the Easter reception for prominent figures taking place every Easter Monday.

Bosnia's top officials including Presidency member Milorad Dodik, Chairman of Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija, Security Minister Fahrudin Radoncic, House of Representatives Speaker Nebojsa Radmanovic, Prime Minister of Bosniak-Croat Federation (FBiH) entity Fadil Novalic, FBiH VP Melika Mahmutbegovic, and many others, conveyed Easter messages to all Catholics in the country, calling for peace, tolerance and unity.
