COVID-19 UPDATES: More than 930 coronavirus cases confirmed in Bosnia

19:16 New coronavirus cases were reported across Bosnia and Herzegovina throughout the day, and now the country has more than 930 of them in total.

Canton 10 in the southwest of the country has recorded seven additional confirmed cases, all from Livno and mainly people who have been in the vicinity of already infected citizens.  

The canton has 22 confirmed cases out of 70 tested citizens, while 730 are in self-isolation.

  In the nearby Western-Herzegovina canton, the current COVID-19 hotspot in the south of the country, authorities have reported six new cases in Siroki Brijeg who belong to a new cluster detected in the city.  

The canton has tested 39 people on Friday and testing continues on Saturday.  

The canton has a total of 58 confirmed cases of which 43 are from Siroki Brijeg, 11 from Grude, and four from Posusje.

10:50 Among the more than 900 people who tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia and Herzegovina are seven members of the Armed Forces, the Defence Ministry said.   Another 102 soldiers members are in self-isolation, it said.

New cases were also confirmed across the country on Saturday morning.

Another 11 coronavirus cases were confirmed in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) region throughout the past 24 hours, RS Health Minister Alen Seranic said.

The Sarajevo University Clinical Centre said that four people tested positive for the virus overnight – two from Bihac, one from Sarajevo and one from Bihac.
