The US has allocated 1.2 million Dollars in financial aid to Serbia to help the country combat the coronavirus pandemic, the State Department said on its web site.

A press release said that the 1.2 million Dollars in health assistance is helping expand testing, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance; deploy additional technical expertise for response and preparedness; bolster risk communication and community engagement; and improve hygiene practices in the home. “In addition, USAID/Serbia has also redirected $150,000 to provide food and other essential support to Serbia’s most vulnerable families and groups, including the elderly,” it added.

It said that Kosovo would receive 1.1 million Dollars in health assistance to help prepare laboratory systems, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance, support technical experts for response and preparedness, bolster risk communication, and more.

Another 300,000 Dollars in health assistance has been allocated to help Montenegro to address the outbreak as well as 1.1 million Dollars for North Macedonia, the press release said.
