Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic on Monday asked his ministers and heads of state institutions to prepare a plan for easing restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The plan should be put in place on Tuesday. It should be “precise and sustainable” and should comprise several stages over the next 45 days.

“Each next stage will depend on our readiness to maintain the results achieved in curbing the epidemic. That is a precondition for our economic and social recovery. The government and the national coordinating body on infectious diseases will do all they can, gradually and with determination, to create the necessary conditions in the coming weeks to free up citizens’, entrepreneurial and creative potential,” Markovic said on his Twitter account.

He said that Montenegro had achieved enviable results in combating the coronavirus epidemic and that the country now needed to move on with its economic and social life.

To date, 312 people in Montenegro have been infected with the Covid-19 virus, 88 have recovered from the disease while five people have died.
