COVID-19 UPDATES: Bosnia's Tomislavgrad records first case

19:00 Over the past 24 hours, Mostar University Hospital tested 17 samples from Canton 10 for the presence of SAR-CoV-2 virus, one of which was positive, making t the first case of Covid-19 from Tomislavgrad.

According to the information provided by the cantonal Civil Protection Headquarters, this case is not linked to the Livno cluster and the epidemiological service is currently working to determine the possible connection between these cases.

15:30 West-Herzegovina Canton in Bosnia's Federation entity reported four more cases over the day – all from Siroki Brijeg, While-the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton said a nurse from Konjic was infected.

15:00 Sarajevo Canton's authorities reported an increase in unemployment by 3,598 workers. According to the cantonal Utilities and Infrastructure Minister Nihada Glamoc, on Monday alone 268 persons signed up at the unemployment office.

12:00 Another twenty-seven Covid-19 patients have been confirmed in Bosnia's Federation (FBiH) entity over the past 24 hours and nineteen in Republika Srpska (RS), bringing the country's total to 1,342, according to the official data published by Bosnia's Civil Affairs Ministry. Two more Covid-19 patients have died.

Federation has tested 605 patients on its territory over the past 24 hours, said Sanjin Musa, Head of FBiH Public Healthcare Institute.

The coronavirus infection has been confirmed with 760 persons in this part of the country to date.

As for Republika Srpska, of 208 tested patients in the past 24 hours, 19 turned out positive, 564 in total, said RS Health Minister Alen Seranic.

Victor Olsavzky, the Head of World Health Organisation (WHO) office in the country, joined Seranic's daily press conference, saying that the state of the coronavirus epidemic in Bosnia and Herzegovina was stable and that the infections curve was flattening.

He also said that the measures in effect seem to be effective.

According to official figures, Bosnia's death toll stands at 51, with 32 fatalities in FBiH and 17 in RS, while 437 patients have recovered.
