Slovenia has confirmed nine new cases of the coronavirus infection over the last 24 hours, and no new fatalities, and Slovenian epidemiologists said on Tuesday that the epidemic is winding down.
A total of 1,174 tests were conducted yesterday, and four new cases of the coronavirus infection were confirmed, but the death toll stayed the same, at 77, the Slovenian government said.
According to epidemiologists, the coronavirus epidemic is continuing to ease, as evidenced by the number of hospitalised patients, which decreased by three on Monday compared with Sunday and is now 85, while the number of patients in intensive care is 25, one fewer than the previous day. Four patients have recovered and were discharged from hospitals on Monday.
The total number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus infection, from the start of the epidemic to the end of yesterday, increased to 1,344, after 42,976 tests had been done.
According to the Health Ministry's data, the situation is still the worst in nursing homes, which accounts for 26 percent of the total number of confirmed cases in Slovenia and about three quarters of the deaths connected with the epidemic.
