Dodik: By attending corona party, Bosnia's Trade Minster ended his career

By attending the 'corona party' in Sarajevo, Bosnia's Foreign Trade Minster Stasa Kosarac marked the end of his political career, there is no question about that, said Bosnian Serb leader and Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik Tuesday, following a bust of a private birthday party attended by several Bosnian celebrities and officials.

“Kosarac is finished as far as the policy of our party is concerned and I will act accordingly in the future. In this regard, we will take the best-suited measures for the Republika Srpska entity (when dealing with this incident). In fact, bearing in mind that the shift in the Council of Ministers can lead to loss of position of Republika Srpska itself, we will determine our steps accordingly,” Dodik said.

According to him, the party he leads and whose member is Stasa Kosarac, rejects, condemns and distances itself from Kosarac's actions, adding that he will no longer serve as his closest advisor.

The leader of the strongest political party in Bosnia's Serb-dominated entity said Bosnia's Foreign Trade Minister had surprised and disappointed them with his actions.

“He annulled all my positive beliefs about his abilities. To do something like this is not a matter of personal, but above all his political and social responsibility, bearing in mind that he was elected to the most important function. So, I completely reject his misconduct, unacceptable and politically irresponsible behaviour through which he threatened the previously implemented policies which proved to be successful, for the sake of his personal comfort,” Dodik said.

Last night Sarajevo police busted what was dubbed by the social media as ‘corona party’ in one of Sarajevo's secluded restaurants where the chief of the General and Abdominal Surgery at the Sarajevo University Hospital, Jusuf Sabanovic, celebrated his birthday.

The news broke after several people at the party started posting videos, images and live recordings of the celebration where all the attendees were visible. The images and videos soon became viral in the country which led to police busting the facility and fining 16 people who were caught celebrating.

Bosnia's Serb Presidency member said that this time of the epidemic allows no mistakes.

“Kosarac's responsibility is very significant, considering the political situation in the country and the fact that he performs such an important political function,” he noted.
