The Government of Bosnia's Federation entity suspended on Tuesday head of the Civil Protection Administration over a controversial purchase of ventilators from China until the state prosecutors close the investigation into this case.
The deal in which the FBiH Government awarded a 10.5 million Bosnian mark (some 5.3 million Euros) to a company that runs a raspberry farm in the eastern town of Srebrenica to purchase 100 ventilators from China became a subject of an investigation after it sparked outrage in Bosnia end of April.
Fahrudin Solak, the chief of the Civil Protection Administration, who was involved in the purchase of ventilators had asked for the temporary suspension.
According to the latest available information, the experts had established the procured ventilators did not meet the minimum criteria necessary for adequate treatment of patients in intensive care units, including Covid-19 patients.
