The Blidinje Nature Park, located in western Herzegovina in the heart of the Dinaric Alps, covers an area of 358 km2, spreading across three municipalities and the mountain massif of Cvrsnica, Cabulja and Vrana.

Although it is spring and flowers are blooming as temperatures now sometimes exceed 25°C, snow can still be found in some areas of the park.

It was named after its alpine lake Blidinje, which is at an elevation of 1,185 metres above sea level and more than two kilometres wide.

Visitors can also find medieval Bosnian tombstones scattered across some areas within the park, some of which date back to the 12th century.
