Croatian MEP Tonino Picula has been appointed European Parliament Rapporteur for relations with the United States of America.
This is a post through which Picula will cover, on behalf of the European Parliament, all topics concerning the relations between the European Union and the USA, as well as represent the Committee on Foreign Affairs and his group of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
One of the priority issues MEP Picula will address is the equality of citizens of all EU member states in relations with the US, which in Croatia's case refers to abolishing visas to the US, as well as avoiding double taxation, his office said.
