Montenegro records rise in coronavirus cases, 22 since Wednesday

In the last 24 hours, 22 new cases of the coronavirus were conformed in Montenegro, bringing a total number of infected to 87, the Beta news agency reported, citing the National Institute for Public health.

 On Wednesday, most of the newly infected cases were reported to have been imported from Serbia or were spread by the Montenegrin nationals who illegally were in Serbia in the last several days.

The National Body for Contagious Diseases said those newly infected on Wednesday were soccer supporters who attended Red Star – Partizan derby in Belgrade, and those who were in the town of Tutin in southwestern Serbia.

Montenegro, the tiny coastal republic in the Western Balkans was the last European state to declare the epidemic on March 17. On June 2, Podgorica said the outbreak was over.
