Bosnian capital Sarajevo and the northern city of Tuzla deployed on Friday medical staff teams to Novi Pazar, to help its healthcare workers fight the coronavirus epidemic that has seriously affected this town in Serbia's southwest.
Sarajevo University Clinical Centre's team consists of six doctors, specialists in infectious diseases, anesthesiology, rehabilitation and physiatry, clinical centre's general manager Sebija Izetbegovic confirmed for N1.
Sarajevo team will be accompanied by the staff of the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Department.
Tuzla Clinical Centre is sending three doctors and three nurses to Novi Pazar.
“We would like to help the people of Sandzak (the region where Novi Pazar is located) and our colleagues because they are in a very difficult situation. Our first experience with Covid-19 in all fields of medicine is really good. Our professional maturity is at such level that gives us right to help in these most critical moments,” said the team leader, dr Zijah Rifetbegovic.
According to the latest reports, ten more patients died at Novi Pazar hospital due to the coronavirus complications, while the city hospital is struggling with a high number of patients infected with the coronavirus.
