The ‘Srebrenica Flower’ was displayed across the famous Old Bridge in Mostar on Friday evening to honour the victims of the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide ahead of the July 11 commemoration and 25 anniversary of the massacre.
The gesture was organised by the Center for Peace and Multiethnic Cooperation which urged Bosnia’s international administrator, High Representative Valentin Inzko, to impose a law banning genocide denial in the country.
“We call upon High Representative Valentin Inzko to keep his word, impose the law and stop the continued torment of the victims and their loved ones. In addition to our obligation to remember, that is also a civilisational debt to the victims and their families,” the Center said in a statement signed by its director, Safet Orucevic.
