After the four-month travel restrictions, the travellers from the European Union and the Schengen area will be allowed entry to Bosnia and Herzegovina if they present a negative coronavirus test taken not more than 48 hours prior to their trip, the Council of Ministers decided on Tuesday.

The decision will come into effect on July 16.

Bosnia closed the state border for foreigners on March 22 as one of the measures to prevent the coronavirus spread. The exceptions were foreign diplomats, medical workers, NATO and EUFOR members, and a few other categories.

The borders were first opened for the neighbouring Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, whose citizens can enter Bosnia with their passport or ID card only.
