European Union (EU) has made another donation in medical equipment for Bosnia and Herzegovina that will help the country respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The donation worth some 1.3 million Euro includes 28 ventilators, 20 medical ultrasound devices and 2,000 pulse oximeters, which will be distributed to healthcare institutions across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Johann Sattler, Head of the EU Delegation and EU Special Representative who handed over the donation to Bosnian Foreign Minister Bisera Turkovic, said the victory against the pandemic is still far away. He warned that the virus has been affecting young people more and more recently, which is why the situation requires caution and obeying of the recommendations issued by competent institutions.

“That's why we're here today to deliver the medical equipment shipment for Bosnia and Herzegovina. European Union remains the most loyal partner to the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said the ambassador.

FM Turkovic thanked for the donation and the constant support that the Union is providing to Bosnia, stressing that this was a “certain sign” Bosnia is a serious candidate for the full membership in the EU in the near future.
