Regional countries with the highest coronavirus death rate ranked

With 3,8 deaths per one million citizens, the country with the highest COVID-19 death rate in the region is North Macedonia, followed by Montenegro, Serbia and then Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonian news channel Sitel TV reported.

Montenegro had 3,17 deaths per a million citizens, while Serbia had 1,26. Bosnia and Herzegovina and Moldova follow, both with one death per a million citizens, the news channel said. Next in line are Slovenia, Bulgaria and Albania, while Croatia and Greece are at the bottom of the list.

Belgium has the highest COVID-19 death rate across Europe, with 845 dead among a million people. The UK, Spain, Italy and Sweden follow, with numbers between 500 and 600.
