Caterers and musicians gathered in Sarajevo on Thursday to protest the measures the Crisis Headquarters introduced to contain the coronavirus which included limiting the working time of restaurants and drinking establishments in Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region to 11 pm.

They gathered in front of the Parliament building and demanded that authorities permit them working hours in accordance with the way they are registered and for the state to take over rent costs and salaries for employees in case they are banned from operating that way.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has been experiencing a dramatic increase of new coronavirus cases since mid-June, with the capital being one of the hotspots.

Authorities across the country have started reintroducing part of the measures regarding businesses that were lifted earlier in the year in an effort to curb the economic consequences of the pandemic.
