Italy honours Bosnian Ambassador to Czech Rep. for promoting women's rights

Italy's President and Prime Minister decorated Bosnia’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Martina Mlinarevic, for her work in promoting women’s rights, prevention of breast cancer and the value of conversation in society.

Ambassador Mlinarevic is a renowned writer, columnist and breast cancer survivor.

In 2018, Mlinerevic exposed her surgery scar for the whole world to see in order to raise awareness about the disease and empower other survivors.

She is also well-known for her fierce criticism of nationalism in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte honoured her with one of the greatest decorations in Italy.

“Words cannot describe my pride. The President of the Republic of Italy awarded me this wonderful and important recognition, my award arrived today,” Mlinarevic wrote on Twitter.
