Bosniak Party of Montenegro: We expect EU integration as NATO member to continue

The Bosniak Party of Montenegro said on Monday, a day after the election, that it will continue to advocate for the same positions regarding the future of Montenegro and that it expects the country will continue its path toward EU integration as a NATO member.

“We expect that the European and Euro-Atlantic path of Montenegro as a civil and multiethnic community, a NATO member, will continue and that this policy will continue to be the dominant state policy in the coming period,” the party said.

The statement came a day after three opposition coalitions won the majority in the Montenegrin parliament, which could result in Milo Djukanovic's Democratic Party of Socialists no longer being in power after 30 years.

The Bosniak Party said it will continue to lead its policy of Bosniak representation in state institutions and that it gained the votes of 16,286 people in the election, securing three seats in parliament.
