Montenegro reported 216 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, a new record in the daily count.
The country's health authorities said that 839 people had been tested in the past 24 hours and one in four had a positive result.
Three persons have died from coronavirus-related complications, bringing the death toll to 112.
The total number of active cases stands at 1,451, which is 230 per 100,000 inhabitants.
Epidemiologists said that the spike in new cases followed political rallies that brought together tens of thousands of people despite the ban on public assembly.
