Bosnia's National Museum in Sarajevo organised a “Conversations under the Sequoia: Writers in the National Museum” in its Botanical Garden on Thursday evening with the aim of making this event a tradition.

“The idea was to include the space of the Botanical Garden at least partially during one day per week in a slightly broader context of the Museum's presentation. We plan to extend the working hours until 10:00 or 11:00 pm, to enrich it with additional content, which is not strictly related to activities we are engaged in,” said Mirsad Sijaric, director of the National Museum Sarajevo.

Mirsad Sijaric, the Director of the Museum, had his first conversation with writer Damir Ovcina.

“I don't like boring and repulsive places, things like this should happen more often. Something live, that makes life more fulfilled. We shouldn't only look at some things from two or three thousand years ago here,” Ovcina said.

A conversation with Mustafa Zvizdic is planned for next Thursday, and after that on September 24, with Faruk Sehic.

Literature, culture, football, cycling, art and other topics will be discussed.

In addition to conversations with writers, the National Museum will soon offer its audiences film screenings as well as exhibitions.
