The main Bosniak Party has drifted away from its defined goals, is engaged in nepotism and tolerates corruption while its leader, Bakir Izetbegovic, is “surrounded by people who serve him false information,” a prominent member of the party told N1 on Wednesday, explaining his resignation from the party’s leadership.
The resignation of Aljosa Campara, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) region, from the presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), has sent shockwaves through the party and the political establishment in Sarajevo.

“I have for a long time been warning about the proclaimed goals from the (SDA) Congress, which are well written but are not being implemented on the ground,” Campara said, explaining that the party declared that it would strive for the civic-oriented concept of the state, try to attract non-Bosniaks and push for principles that strive toward EU membership.
Campara stressed that SDA members who were caught red-handed in corruption scandals are even being awarded with certain posts.
He pointed out that the Canton Sarajevo Board of the SDA is changing the statutes of public companies to adjust them to the qualifications of their preferred candidate for that post, often appointing unqualified people to certain jobs.
“Instead of attracting experts – and there are many of them – we recycle the same people,” he said.
SDA leader Bakir Izetbegovic does not care about any of this, he argued.
Campara, who is also an MP in the Canton Sarajevo Assembly, urged citizens to report corruption whenever they come across it, either anonymously or publicly.
