Of 2,288 tests for the coronavirus performed in the past 24 hours, 111 have come back positive and one COVID-19 patient has died, the Slovenian government said on Twitter on Sunday.
The fact that the number of new infections continues to stay above 100 worries local epidemiologists who believe that it will not go down in the week to come either.
With the latest infections, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has risen to 4,420 since the start of the epidemic, and 1,255 of those cases are active.
The death toll now stands at 142.
Sixty-six patients are being treated in hospitals, the same as on the previous day, but the number of those in intensive care units has increased by three to 13, and most of them are on ventilators.
The government has already stepped up epidemiological measures to make the wearing of face masks outdoors obligatory and it has also banned cafés and restaurants from working after 10.30 pm.
