This is the highest number of new cases in a 24-hour period to date. The previous record was 898 last Friday.
Since the start of the epidemic, Slovenia has registered 15,982 cases of the new virus, including 8,860 currently active ones. The number of infections over the past fortnight has jumped to 423 per 100,000 inhabitants. The death toll is 200.
Currently 333 patients are hospitalised, including 55 in intensive care.
