Slovenia hit a new record of daily coronavirus infections on Thursday, reporting 1,663 new cases in the last 24 hours, according to Health Ministry data.

The number of confirmed cases since the start of the epidemic has risen to 17,646, and 10,136 cases are currently active.

The infection incidence rate, which indicates the number of cases per 100,000 people over 14 days, has increased to 484. A total of 357 infected people are hospitalised and 62 of them are on ventilators.

With seven new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has reached 207.
