Bosnia’s daily coronavirus infections number hits four digits for the first time

For the first time since the pandemic outbreak, the number of daily coronavirus infections in Bosnia hit a four-digit number on Friday, marking a drastic increase compared to the record that was set the day before.

A total of 1,179 people tested positive in the country in the past 24 hours.

Of the 1,057 samples tested in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, 437 were positive for the coronavirus and five more people passed away due to COVID-19.

The other semi-autonomous region, the Federation (FBiH), tested 1,924 people and 732 were positive for the virus. Nine people passed away due to the disease in FBiH.

Ten more coronavirus cases were also reported in Bosnia’s Brcko District.

A total of 38,493 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia since the beginning of the pandemic and 26,260 of them have recovered so far.

The COVID-19 death toll is 1,065.

There are currently 11,168 active coronavirus cases in the country.
