More than 100 Bosnian citizens, most of them women and children, are currently staying in the camps Roj and Al Hol in Syria, according to a list that was put together following a visit to the camps by representatives of the Kurdistan Region Security Council, the Bosnian Embassy in Jordan, Iraqi and Syrian judicial institutions and the Arab Red Crescent.
The list contains the names of 102 Bosnian citizens but is incomplete since several Bosnians are currently in prison.

The vast majority of those on the list – some 90 percent – are women and children. Some of the Bosnian women in the camps have adopted the children of ISIS members who have died in battle, which raises the issue of what will happen with those children since it is unclear whether Bosnia will recognise the adoption documentation issued by ISIS.
Iraq has returned 310 of its citizens from the camps throughout the past month. Some European countries, such as Albania, Austria and Denmark, have also returned numerous nationals.
