Interpol has issued a warrant for Milorad Krunic, a national of Bosnia and Serbia, who Bosnian prosecutors accuse of crimes against humanity committed in Sanski Most in 1992.
Krunic was supposed to attend a hearing at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the end of August 2020 but neither he nor his lawyer showed up.
The Preliminary Hearing Judge, Zoran Bozic, stated that the summons for the hearing was delivered to Krunic by the High Court in Belgrade on June 24, 2020, and that he was duly informed.
Krunic is accused as a member of the militia reserve of committing crimes in 1992 as part of a widespread and systematic attack by the Arm of Republika Srpska Army (VRS) and members of the militia and paramilitary formations, directed against Bosniak and Croat civilians in Sanski Most municipality.
According to prosecutors, on June 11, 1992, Krunic was the leader of a group that transported men from the prison facilities, the Sports Hall and the facility of the ‘Betonirka’ company to the Manjaca prison camp. He allegedly separated six civilians from the others and participated in their killings.
