Sarajevo illuminated its landmark City Hall in the colours of the Austrian flag on Tuesday evening in a display of solidarity with the Austrian capital Vienna which was hit by a terrorist attack the day before.
On Monday, an armed attacker, or possibly more of them, opened fire in the city centre, killing four people and injuring at least 20.

“With this symbolic act, we want to send a strong message of unity. Our thoughts in these difficult times are with the family members of innocent victims who lost their loved ones, but also with the citizens of Vienna and Austria” said Sarajevo Mayor Abdullah Skaka, wishing for a swift recovery of those who were injured.
Skaka said that only “our determination to fight terrorism together” can protect and defend freedom, democracy, and cultural and civilizational values.
