Turkey will soon acquire vaccines against COVID-19 and is prepared to send part of them to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Chairman of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Sefik Dzaferovic, said on Friday after meeting with Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in Ankara.

The two concluded that relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Turkey are good and friendly and discussed various topics, including the situation in light of the coronavirus pandemic, economic cooperation, Turkey’s investment projects in Bosnia and the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.

Erdogan told Dzaferovic that Turkey will acquire vaccines against the coronavirus within the next few months and will allocate part of them to Bosnia.

“Turkey has so far helped Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and will continue to do so. Turkey will receive the vaccine very soon, and their readiness assisting us has been expressed today and will include vaccines,” Dzaferovic said, according to the Fena news agency.

Dzaferovic said he also informed Erdogan about the political situation in Bosnia.

“Erdogan reiterated that Turkey supports stability and peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reforms, the European and NATO path of Bosnia and its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.

The two also discussed the Sarajevo-Belgrade highway construction project, which Turkey is financing, as well as other Turkish investments in Bosnia.
