Sarajevo marked the victory of US President-elect Joe Biden by lighting up its landmark City Hall in the colours of the United States flag and the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The messages ‘Bosnia remembers’ and ‘Unity over division’ were also displayed on the building’s walls.

City Mayor Abdulah Skaka said the building was shining “in honour of a true and proven friend of our country, president-elect of the United States of America, Joe Biden.”

“I also extend my sincere congratulations to the first female Vice President in the American history Kamala Harris, as well as a Bosnian in Biden’s victorious team Elvir Klempic,” said the mayor.
