N1 condemned the insults voiced by a folk singer about its reporter Zaklina Tatalovic in a talk show on the pro-government TV Pink on Sunday night.

“N1 strongly condemns that hate speech and insults voiced several times on the Hit Tvit talk show on TV Pink against N1 journalist Zaklina Tatalovic by one of the guests singer Aleksandar Vuksanovic – aka Aca Lukas,” a press release said.

„It‘s incomprehensible that a national TV channel allows almost an hour of offensive and primitive insults on its program without interrurpting the show which turned into an assault against a journalist. The unusual failure of the experience anchor of Hit Tvit in stopping that scandalous behaviour, the fact that guest Zoran Cirjakovic was ready to join in the attacks on N1 and the silence of the third guest – SPAS leader Aleksandar Sapic – created a bitter impression that the whole show was pre-conceived with the plan and goal of a primitive assault on N1 journalist Zaklina Tatalovic and on N1,“ it said.

„Undoubtedly, singer Aleksandar Vuksanovic hit the tone of the daily attacks on N1 and its journalists by the authorities and pro-government tabloids. „N1 demands that the Regulatory Body for Electornic Media (REM) condemn the abuse of a national frequency and immediatelly stop the turning of a national frequency TV into a media tool for attacks on other media and their journalists.

„N1 is calling the Coordination Body for Gender Equality to act within its competencies and immediatelly discuss this scandal and professional journalists‘ organizations, other media and NGOs dealing with the media to condemn the primitive insults of the N1 journalist. „N1 will inform all relevant international organizations which are involved with the media about the event, including the International Federation of Journalists, OSCE and European Union bodies, the press release said.
