More than 1,600 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in Bosnia and Herzegovina while 46 died due to COVID-19 throughout the past 24 hours, healthcare authorities reported on Tuesday.
According to the head of the Public Health Institute of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, 475 people tested positive in the RS while 16 passed away due to the disease.
The Public Health Institute in the other semi-autonomous region, the Federation (FBiH), reported 29 new COVID-19 deaths and that 1,123 of the 4,059 samples tested since Monday were positive.
Seven more people tested positive and one died due to the disease in Bosnia’s Brcko District.
According to the Civil Affairs Ministry, 65,024 people have tested positive for the coronavirus since the beginning of the epidemic in Bosnia and 32,261 have recovered so far.
The COVID-19 death toll is now 1,629.
There are currently 31,134 active coronavirus cases in the country.
